Player Information:

Any female athletes between the ages of 5 and 14* are invited to join CGFP this August for our Fall Ball season.

Age Divisions are based on birth years:

• 6U: 9/1/2016-8/31/2018
• 8U: 9/1/2014- 8/31/2016
• 10U: 9/1/2012-8/31/2014
• 12U: 9/1/2010- 8/31/2012
• 14U*: 9/1/2008-8/31/2010

We will make every attempt to place registered players on a team, but spots will be limited based on manager interest.

This year USA SOFTBALL changed the age requirements. Please see a new special section of the registration form where you can request consideration to play in the division that you would have previously been assigned based on the 22-23 USA SOFTBAL Age Chart. If your birthday falls between September 1 and December 31, and you have already played 2 years in your current division, this could apply to you. The decision will be based upon availability and assessment in both divisions.

Fall Ball fees are being charged for the basic items this year (balls, jerseys, and umpire fees). Once assigned to a team your team manager may collect fees for socks, belts, team banner, and other team gear.

We will field both advanced (SoCal 1904) and recreational teams during the fall. All teams will play on Sundays and practice on 2 weekdays (except 6U which will only be recreational and has practice on 1 weekday).

The same registration system is used for both advanced and recreational teams. If your player is interested in an advanced team, you will be able to indicate their interest during the registration process. Please note that players must have played with CGFP for at least one recreational season in order to be eligible for an advanced team. 

Recreational teams will play in the CGFP fall ball league against teams from both CGFP and other area leagues. They will play one game on Sundays.

Advanced teams will play in the SoCal 1904 Fastpitch League. This league will feature high-level play against teams throughout the region, with doubleheaders on Sundays (and occasionally other days). Players are drafted from those who indicate interest during the registration process. If your player is selected for an advanced team, you will be notified by the manager. If they are not selected, they will be placed on a recreational team. 

Fall Dates: 

• Registration is open from 7/1-7/31/24. First come first serve. There is limited space available.
• Fall Assessments: 8/3/24.  Make-up Assessment 8/4/24
• Managers Meeting and draft: week of 8/5/24, exact dates TBD
• Practice begins week of 8/12/24
• Games are on Sundays starting 9/8/24
• Playoffs: Tentatively 11/17/2024

Volunteers Needed:

• Managers (Head Coach)– Manage team. Game management. Create practice plans. Communicate with families and players.
• Coaches – Assist with coaching a team during games. Assist with running field and batting cage practice.
• Team Parents- Coordinate with manager on team communication, events, schedule, and possibly help keep dugout in order and other things as needed.
• Field Maintenance Volunteers – Fix it jobs around the field and batting cages. Water and drag fields. Weekly maintenance schedule.
• Event Volunteers – Check in table. Auction Tables. Setup and tear down of tables, a/v, décor, food, etc.
• Fundraising/ Sponsorship Volunteers – Gather auction items. Arrange fundraising events. Sponsor outreach and coordination.

*14U players may need to be reassigned to a 12U team if there is not enough interest in the 14U division to field a team.
