COVID-19 League Update

Hello CGFP Members,

I hope you are well and that you and your family are hanging in there. I wanted to let you know that the board is still holding meetings (through Zoom) and preparing for any scenario we may face in the coming weeks/months. We are working diligently with the city, maintaining the fields and grounds as well as making some upgrades to the cages that were already planned before the isolation orders were given. The mayor of San Diego has reopened the community parks for walking, running but not for youth sports. Fingers crossed that will come in time.

I continue to attend meetings with USA Softball (another this week) and they, as well as the CGFP board, are committed to having some sort of season this year. It may not look like it has in years past, but we are hopeful we will get to meet on the field sooner than later.

We reached out to the Lifetouch, the sports photographer, and they had a minor production shutdown but are back up and running. We will be reaching out to our members to figure out a way to get you your player's pictures shortly.

I wish I had more news to update you on. More than anything I just wanted to check in and let you know that we are still here and doing everything we can to get the girls back on the field safely.
